Remington - Camping Gear

College project: SCAD

Remington, the well known firearms and ammunication company, came to SCAD and tasked us with designed camping gear for both their current user and their future user.

Extensive research was conducted, including going camping as a class to use the tools that were being re-designed and to identify key opportunities.

Objective: to design a line of camping gear as a class that fit Remington's aesthetic, while inspring new users to become loyal to the brand. The existing users of the Remington also had to be considered and designed for.

Three teams of four members were decided upon, with each team designing an aspect of the new Remington camping gear family.

Role: team leader, main researcher, class visual and graphic designer

Outcome: full scale prototypes were fabricated and presented to Remington executives at the end of the ten week long class period.
All products developed were designed to follow the Remington design language, as well as fit together as a product family. Team leaders worked extremely closely to ensure that they were collaborating effectively to achieve brand harmony.
Team outcome: a small, 'in case of emergency', camping kit. Kit included waterproof interior case, roll-able waterproof bag for essentials, as well as a built in water filter in the to of the lid.
